I bought this in album/vinyl form 20 years ago and loved it then. Seeing it on CD I had to order it. Now that I'm older and have mellowed even more, it completely blows me away.
I Also Recommend: Christmas.

November 07, 2005:
Years ago, when I was in college and going through a rough time, a friend gave me a tape of "December." It was lost in one of my several relocations and I couldn't get it out of my mind. I kept looking for it in stores and mentioning it on my Christmas wish lists and I'd end up with other George Winston CDs. Good ones, all. But just not THE George Winston music I missed so much. A couple of weeks ago my daughter (who's away at college) mentioned wanting this particular CD, so I decided I'd look for a copy for her before Christmas. I spent some time in my local Barnes & Noble the other day with a very helpful B&N employee who helped me to search and search (based on the name of a song. I'd forgotten the title of the entire work and kept thinking it was "Thanksgiving"). Yes, we found it! But I couldn't resist, and once I got home I practically ripped off the plastic (yes, I admit it), and I'm keeping this one for myself. So now I'm online to buy another copy for my daughter and one for a friend. Listening to all the amazing songs on "December" again brings back memories and I recall how much these songs soothed me and got me through some difficult times. This is music to drink hot cocoa or coffee to, music to write to, music to lean back in your favorite chair to. It's music to cry to (and I mean that in the most positive sense). "Minstrels" (the third part of "Night") is so beautiful it brings me to tears every single time I hear it.
