Once Three 6 Mafia had proven itself to be a marketable rap group with a growing cult following in the late '90s, Da Devil's Playground hit the streets. Rather than featuring new recordings, the album actually features older Koopsta Knicca solo material that had previously been released to a small underground audience long before the rapper saw fame via his membership in Three 6 Mafia. As a result, the quality isn't on par with other Three 6 Mafia-affiliated albums, but Da Devil's Playground does serve as a suitable showcase of Koopsta Knicca's skills.
