While there are many more comprehensive collections detailing the career of the gifted yet troubled Baker, Verve does a nice job of focusing in on some lesser known cuts that spotlight the trumpeter's gifts for melody and lyricism. Included are such afterglow-ready tunes as "Easy Living," "Touch of Your Lips," and "Everything Happens to Me." This is a warm listen that perfectly sets its intended mood.
