Editorial Reviews

Recorded at two Dutch folk festivals in the early 1980s, this has good performances by some of the biggest names in British Isles traditional folk/folk-rock, including Clannad, Andy Irvine, the Tannahill Weavers, Silly Wizard, and Battlefield Band. The program's rounded out by three lesser-known acts from Brittany (Kornog, Dan Ar Bras, and Sonerien Du). Material, sound, and performance are good, and while it may not be the first place you should stop to check out the artists, it's a good addition for those building a deep Celtic collection. Incidentally, the Clannad tracks were recorded during their first performances with then-14-year-old Enya in the lineup; the Silly Wizard cut is one of the few recordings of the group with Dougie McLean.
