About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Andrew Peterson, the CCM group bearing a title that can often be mistaken for a single individual, released their debut album, Carried Along, in 2000. The trio, composed of members Andrew Peterson, Jamie Peterson, and Gabe Scott, toured with Caedmon's Call before signing a record deal with Watershed Records in the spring of 1999. The project features a strong folk sound, at times blended with pop influences. Songs include "The Chasing Song," "The Coral Castle," and "Come, Lord Jesus." ~ Ashleigh Kittle, All Music Guide All Music Guide

May 29, 2001: Andrew's style paints pictures with his words that inspire and relate to the listener. He music underscores in brilliant ways the stories he describes and brings out the emotions he is feeling. Example, in the song 90 and 9, he describes what the Lord does, then using the music, brings forth the joy and celebration of the point of the song. In doing this, the listener can feel the joy and celebration also. His honesty and lack of self-righteousness allows one to relate and be ministered to by his works. With each repeated listening, I am convinced he should have been chosen as Dove's New Artist and album of the year.

April 19, 2000: Andrew brings a fresh sound to CCM. His ability to weave sound, texture, melody and words enables a person to understand his relationship with his Maker. Listening to his music always brings me to a place of quiet solitude with my Maker.
