About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Ever inventive and adaptive, when the Blue Man Group took their How to Be a Megastar! tour to Central and South America during the summer of 2007, they redid their song "Sing Along," which previously featured a stoically sad Dave Matthews on vocals, for their Latin audience. Adding Latin percussion and rhythm and Spanish lyrics (for their American dates, the arrangement also went Latin, but the lyrics did not), the new piece, titled "Canta Conmigo," managed to convey the melancholy in the original song while also being absolutely danceable. It did well enough to make it into the Top 50 of Billboard's club play charts, and also spawn a handful of remixes, seen here on the Canta Conmigo EP. Producers Nickodemus, Funky Junction, Onionz, and Gaea added at least one mix (or in Nickodemus' and Funky Junction's case, three), exploring dub and club beats that mix with the horns and vocals (except, obviously, in Nickodemus' "Afrohouse Instrumental"). If your feelings towards the "Original Mix" are anything but gushing, the EP might be a little too much, but fans of "Canta Conmigo" will find the alternate versions diverse enough to be quite appealing.
