Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason picks up where 2001's campy comedy Bridget Jones's Diary left off, with leading lady Renée Zellweger still embroiled in a love triangle with gentleman Colin Firth and cad Hugh Grant. Like the original, the follow-up soundtrack features both bitter and sweet love songs. Accented by his trademark lisp, U.K. Pop Idol Will Young gives an inspired cover of Sade's "Your Love Is King," while Mary J. Blige puts a bluesy spin on her rendition of Elton John's "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word." But like the film's heroine, the disc remains hopelessly romantic -- its more blissful moments include Kylie Minogue's infectious "Can't Get You Out of My Head," Minnie Ripperton's euphoric "Lovin' You," and Beyoncé's rump-shaker "Crazy in Love."
