About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

A banjo player with a voice and style that brings thoughts of Flatt & Scruggs to mind, Jim Mills is a comforting presence in a world gone mad with high-tech and pre-fab sounds. Touted by WSM Grand Ole Opry announcer Eddie Stubbs and Ricky Skaggs, he even gets a thumbs up from Earl Scruggs himself. Pretty impressive, as is his high-octane picking. Covering great tunes by truly great writers like Jimmy Martin, Ralph Stanley and Hank Williams, Sr., Mills is the real deal in bluegrass circles. His version of "John Henry Blues" is priceless, as is his rendition of Hank Sr.'s "There'll Be No Teardrops Tonight." A truly inspired performer who presents himself and the music he loves in a spirited fashion. This is a must-have for all bluegrass fans. Jana Pendragon, All Music Guide
