About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

What's the point of being a rock star if you can't at least enjoy yourself? It's a question the members of Third Eye Blind likely asked themselves as they worked on their sophomore outing, BLUE. For while the album is sometimes blue in tone -- as lyrics like "I never felt alone till I met you" ("Deep Inside of You") attest -- it's hardly as pouty or self-obsessed as the band's eponymous debut. Instead, Third Eye Blind have crafted a batch of emotional, energetic, and yes, fun ditties that rock with insistent riffs and hook-laden vocals without sacrificing the band's moody atmospherics. Along the way, the group pay homage to classic acts like Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, Bad Company, and even AC/DC, giving BLUE more of a timeless feel than many modern rock records. January 04, 2005: This CD picks up from Third Eye Blind's self titled debut and launches the band into an artistic stratosphere of their own. Much darker and deeper than other albums of its era, Third Eye Blind's sophomore release captured the essence, energy and emotion of what keeps contemporary life in orbit. The combination of classic rock, cutting-edge/genre-hopping rhythms and Jenkin's cerebral self-effacement make this album the very definition of "modern rock." Like other all-time great recordings, (and contrary to the comments of many "critics") Blue manages to be seriously accomplished without taking itself too seriously: The elaborate and exquisite musical productions layer above thinly veiled lyrics of unparallelled humanity, honesty (and humour). Just like our planet, this collection of music will stand the test of time.

March 22, 2001: what happened? The band tried to make it sound more like techno. The only good song on there is ''Wounded''
