This U.K. reissue combines the group's third and fourth albums onto one CD, with better sound than Columbia's own domestic CD releases of the two albums. The new notes by Alan Robinson put Blood, Sweat & Tears: 3 & 4 in context with the band's larger history, and go a long way to explaining what went wrong for the group coming off of their immensely popular second album. Between that perspective and the near-optimum presentation of the musical content, this release may be the best way to approach these two albums, in terms of distilling down the best parts of both as a listening experience.
