This 1993 (reissued in 2003) collection from Collectables is almost identical to The Best of the Hollies, Vol. 1, a 1988 EMI-Manhattan release. Like its predecessor, it sticks to a lean ten-song selection, including "Bus Stop," "On a Carousel," "Carrie Ann," "Pay You Back With Interest," and "I Can't Let Go." It's also quite similar content-wise to Capitol's 2002 Classic Masters disc, which trumps it with 24-bit remastered sound. Since it's missing several definitive moments -- "King Midas in Reverse," "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress," "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother," and so on -- it's far from an essential overview.
