Although they earned their biggest hits under the guise of Fatback, their most enjoyable records were recorded as The Fatback Band. The often infectious funk arrangements and horn lines helped embellish what were without question forgettable group vocals. But there were few East Coast bands making more humorous and delightful singles than The Fatback Band, even if they never got significant airplay or sales, even within the R&B community. This anthology collects most of the tracks that either charted or were underground hits, including the wonderful "Wicky Wacky." Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
