Introduce classical music to your little cuties with a little help from Sing Along Symphonies. This entertaining album recasts the "greatest hits" of classical music -- including Tchaikovsky's "1812" Overture and Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik -- with some wild and wacky kid-friendly lyrics. The disc's hilarious rendition of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony claims "Beethoven's wig is big/ it's stylish and it's handsome./ It costs a small king's ransom/ 500 bucks and then some!" Tchaikovsky's "1812" Overture takes on an even more bodacious sound with a little help from the explosive lines: "Tchaikovsky's Cannonball/ Blew up the concert hall!/ But everyone could see/ I made history./ That's the great Tchaikovsky's Cannonball!" This wonderfully imaginative approach to "serious music" for little people exposes the younger audience to the wonders of the classics with an irresistibly skewed sense of humor. September 26, 2009: I think this is not such a great CD because it ruins the wonderful compositions of classical artists such as these. There are much better classical music for kids Cds out there that are more educational and respect the intent of the composer as well as the piece itseld. Also, the people singing in the CD: A. sing so loud you can barely hear the instruments and B. sing horribly. Everyone I'ver personally talked to about this CD thinks it is a disgrace and it is horrible. I do not recommend it.

However, positively, it is a decent introduction to classical music (although there are better ones out there) and it is pretty creative. It may be enjoyable depending on how important music is to you in your life and whether you truly care about classical music (I know I do). That's All. Good Luck on your decision! :)

June 30, 2009: I love this music. The lyrics make these classical masterpieces fun to listen to and more memorable for children. My only complaint is that the songs are so short. None last for more than 3 minutes so you only get a taste of each piece of music. I was excited to see that the "regular" version of each piece was also included in the cd, however, those tracks are also as short as the lyrical ones. Overall it's an enjoyable cd. I love classical music and I am a nanny, so I definitely enjoy being able to share my favorite music with my charges! I definitely recommend.
