Editorial Reviews

Michael Convertino's score for the romantic movie Bed of Roses is played by twin orchestras numbering up to 150 musicians. But Convertino doesn't use the musicians to create large effects. In fact, one would be hard-pressed to think there's even one orchestra working most of the time. The score is one of the most calm and unobtrusive to be heard; on record, it satisfies the definition of "ambient." The mood is broken by two uptempo rock songs, "Killing Time" by Daniel O'Brien and "Nervous Heart" by the Borrowers, and Scarlet's "Independent Love Song" makes a catchy theme.
