Bayou Boogie: Toe Tappin' Tunes Inspired by The Princess And The Frog

About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Randy Newman wrote the songs for Disney's 2009 animated feature The Princess and the Frog but has nothing to do with 2010's Bayou Boogie, a collection of songs inspired by the film and sung by its characters. Fittingly, the songs here sound like skillful knockoffs of Newman's clever Big Easy pastiche, only broader, cartoonier -- still catchy, but undeniably kiddie, relying on character and jokes. This is bound to disappoint anybody who found the original soundtrack a pleasant surprise but this is still entertaining, even if it's more of a conventional family album than the proper soundtrack. A huge disappointment...by MagikMom

September 27, 2010: Disney missed the mark entirely with this cd. None of the tracks have any of the pizazz and gusto that the movie soundtracks contain. The title "Toe Tappin'...." does not describe the music at all. At most I'd recommend for the toddler age group -- don't waste your money otherwise.
