About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

The diva in all her glory: Nobody does it like Barbara Cook, and this glorious live album captures her at a mature peak in her still-evolving career. Here she concentrates on Stephen Sondheim’s superb work, as well as songs the composer himself admires. It’s a perfect match of singer and material. There are plenty of Sondheim classics here (“Send In the Clowns, “Losing My Mind,”) in addition to such gems as Irving Berlin’s “I Got Lost in His Arms” and Harold Arlen’s “I Had Myself a True Love.” Cook handles them all with the ease of one to the manner born.
