May 07, 2006: I am simply in love with Mr.Ma's playing.I have been extremely inspired by his playing Bach.I must say that I listen to this C.D. throughout the day without ever feeling tired (or bored )of it. It's by far one of his best work.I assure anyone who is thinking of buying this masterpiece that you won't regret it.

February 19, 2005: This was Mr. Ma's first recording of the Suites, and without a doubt the best. There is only so far you can stretch the rhythm when playing unaccompanied. This recording is more straightforward than his second effort; some of the recent recordings of unaccompanied Bach are so slow in the slow movements that the music loses its forward motion, and unfortunately we the listeners have to suffer while the artist is attempting to convey some deep thought known only to him or her. Thank goodness they recorded these before Mr. Ma felt the need to wax poetic.
