About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

After completely (and successfully) rehauling their sound for 2005's Howl, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club shelved their low-key Americana leanings, reburied their roots music influences, and moved to a new version of their old, noisy sound. Baby 81 is a big rock record with walls of crunchy guitars, thundering drums, and lots of volume that sounds like a cross between Oasis and the Jesus and Mary Chain at their most conventional. May 11, 2007: I was quite shocked to hear BRMC were releasing another album, to tell you the truth i thought they had hit their pinnacle with HOWL, but i was wrong. This album sees them return to their more guitar based rock and roll style, but this time it is far more classier then their previous albums. The first few listens and you will be thinking that this is just an average album that never really get's going, but on the fifth, six time of listening it really hit's you and you will realise the depth and pure genius of Baby81. By far the best album release this year, but will probably go unseen by the majority of the public and the music industry, but i'm sure thats the way BRMC would like it.
