December 08, 2005: Even if you don't like organ music, you will love this album! Virgil Fox was not only a virtuoso organist, he played the instrument beautifully and expressively. Fox plays several wonderful transcriptions of songs and orchestral pieces, as well as the amazingly difficult pedals-only Perpetuum Mobile. This CD sounds great, especially on a stereo system with good bass(think subwoofers)!

November 17, 2002: Virgil Fox was also a masterful church organist. For many years, he served the prestigious Riverside Church in New York City. He designed the organ presently in place there. Much of what is recorded here is the lighter aspects of the repertoire. Nevertheless, Fox manages to continue to impart his magic over the listener. The marvelous variety of sounds that he is able to coax from his instrument is impressive. He was perhaps the organ's greatest colorist.
