About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Actress Scarlett Johansson's recording debut features covers of ten Tom Waits songs. David Bowie lends his distinctive vocals to the tracks “Falling Down” and “Fannin’ Street,” while Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner and members of the band Celebration contribute throughout. The album was produced by Dave Sitek of the New York rock band TV on the Radio and boasts one original tune, "Song for Jo." Barnes & Noble

May 25, 2008: I'm scared for Scarlett. I never really liked her as a actress, and this just makes it worse. I'm scared that she'll be on Best Week Ever every week and they'll make fun of her. The show is incredibly funny, and it's like Scarlett made this album just so she would be mentioned on the show each week. Alternitive is not for Scarlett, neither is this buisness. She is not making a very good name for herself. Not at all.

May 23, 2008: I was really surprised when I listened to this album for the first time. It's very original and has a sound unlike no other. Some of the best songs include "Song For Jo", "I Wish I Was In New Orleans" and the title track. Scarlett's voice works well with the music, even if it's not the best out there. "Anywhere I Lay My Head" is worth a listen.
