The album, coinciding with the group's silver anniversary, is a collection for longtime fans and newcomers wanting a compilation whose eclecticism is only surpassed by its musical excellence and ingenuity. From the reels and instrumental jigs such as "Les Patins de Pauline/Le Petit Bucheux" to the jazz-inspired freestyle, percussion and piano sporadically speckled within, the toe-tappers are instantly infectious. Particular highlights are "Yoyo" and "Le Reel du Forgeron." A large portion of the music is quite similar to the Irish folk songs and music of the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, despite the language variation. And despite the numerous lineup changes expected over such time, the quality has not suffered. Three additional tracks recorded in February 2001 are not out of their musical league, but don't stack up to the others in quality.
