About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

With proceeds going to the For All Kids Foundation, Rosie's second Christmas album features an impressive array of performers turning in both seasonal standards and newly conceived holiday tunes. Rosie joins teen dance-pop sensation Jessica Simpson (on the jolly "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree"), Smash Mouth (on the amusing "Nuttin' for Christmas"), the inimitable Macy Gray (on a lovely, soothing version of "Winter Wonderland"), Ricky Martin (on an infectious, salsa-tinged "Ay, Ay, Ay, It's Christmas"), Sugar Ray (on a relatively unoriginal rendition of "Silver Bells"), and pint-sized talent Billy Gilman (on the fun, boisterous "I'm Gonna E-mail Santa"). Other highlights sure to stir your holiday spirit include the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's sedate "Prince of Peace," Donna Summer's beat-driven "Rosie Christmas," and Marc Anthony's gorgeous "Christmas Auld Lang Syne." November 07, 2000: Children and adults alike will truly enjoy this CD. Unfortunately Rosie does not sing as much as on her first Christmas album. Being a Rosie fan, I love to hear her sing with her friends. However, the variety of the entertainers and the quality of their songs makes up for it. Humor is necessary when listening to the Dixie Chicks and Rosie's song as some phrases may offend some, but it proves to be a very well done ''live'' song on the album, and probably my most favorite. One song in particular will definitely appeal to children and will be easliy repeated by them with the simple and fun lyrics: Billy Gilman's ''I'm gonna email Santa''. Adults may have to skip over this song when alone after hearing it one time through. Attention Macy Gray fans, after hearing Macy's ''Winter Wonderland'', it left me at least wishing for a Macy Christmas album! Why? Probably for the same reasons I loved ''Another Rosie Christmas'' as much as I loved ''A Rosie Christmas'': because it's different, it gives a new twist on the usual tunes, and it help's The For All Kids Foundation. Applaud these stars who give freely to help those in need while entertaining all of us.

November 05, 2000: Excellent. Normally we don't like Christmas music, but this is different. It is a great mix of dance, pop and traditional Christmas styles. With artists like Smash Mouth, Macy Gray, Marc Anthony, Sugar Ray and Donna Summer, you can't lose. Also, Rosie O'Donnell and all the guest artists are contributing their proceeds from the sale of the album to the For All Kids Foundation.
