About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

It would be easy to dismiss Mr. Oizo's album as a disposable fad, given the macarena-like frenzy spawned by its closing song, "Flat Beat." That simple techno ditty is a bona fide international smash -- fueled by its lanky yellow bear icon, Flat Eric, and his incredibly popular starring role in a series of Levi's television commercials, the song has topped the charts in 15 countries. But ANALOG WORMS ATTACK is the first solid electronica album to come along in ages without any obvious attempts to tailor its sound to radio formats or even the ever-shifting "club flavor of the month." Mr. Oizo is a pseudonym for 25-year-old Frenchman Quentin Dupieux, who, in addition to composing and creating all the music, designed Flat Eric and directed the commercials. WORMS combines the minimalist bleeps of Plastikman with the dirty, lo-fi hip-hop and winking humor of Beck and late-era Beastie Boys. The result is a delightful, sub-woofer-shredding synthesizer romp that deserves credit above and beyond any novelty status it has attained. David J. Prince, Barnes & Noble

May 12, 2000: The enhanced CD includes the Flat Beat video and it's so cool. My wife and I saw it on our honeymoon in France and searched for it high and low for a year before it finally came out in the states. Very happy to have the record and the Video!
