About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Amorino marks the debut solo release from former Belle & Sebastian member Isobel Campbell. According to the artist, she was inspired by "French girl singers, psychedelia, Jimmy Webb, Antonio Carlos Jobim, The Graduate, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and of course, the most universal of all themes -- even in these cynical times …Love." She's accompanied on the disc by a variety of instruments, including flutes, horns, and glockenspiel. Previously, Campbell had recorded two albums under the Gentle Waves moniker. Barnes & Noble

November 01, 2008: At two in the morning, Isobel Campbells voice escorts me into a philosophical inventory of my self. If existentialism had a sound, it would be this album.
