Editorial Reviews

The third installment in the American Pie series breaks some new matrimonial ground -- and offers up a passel of tunes appropriate for a wedding reception (albeit one with some good soundproofing). The soundtrack is dominated by pop-punk favorites like the Foo Fighters, Good Charlotte, and New Found Glory, whose "Forget Everything" is one of a handful of previously unreleased tunes here. Not to say that American Wedding never ventures beyond the "three chords and a cloud of dust" concept: Avril Lavigne provides a touch of grrrl power on the snazzy "I Don't Give" (a previously unrecorded song that's been getting good response at her live shows), while the Wallflowers offer some spiritual healing on a faithful but interesting cover of Van Morrison's "Into the Mystic." The mood is light, the guitars are heavy, and the fun level is on max, making American Wedding an ideal summer soundtrack. David Sprague, Barnes & Noble

August 07, 2003: I've been a big fan of each of the previous american pie soundtracks, but this one is even better! special features like a van morrison cover and a never released new found glory song make it better than ever. i'm so excited to play it over and over again! fun punk sounds that fit the movie's image quite well.
