The collection of songs on this CD is the best I have heard to date. The dialogues by Wolfman Jack make you truly feel that you have gone back in time. If you enjoy music in the era of the 50's and early 60's, then this is the CD for you.

Along with Pulp Fiction AG is one of the few truely classic soudtrack albums. AG succeeds where other soundtrack compilations fail for five reasons: 1) All the songs are classics that are appreciated by fans of music ranging from Punk to Country to Harder Rock to Classical. They have a raw Punk simplicity but the good taste of a well written and well performed standard. 2) AG mostly combines songs that are not attached to great albums. One bad point is that it does leave off Everyday and Well Allright by Buddy Holly. These are his good taste songs that are without the irritating and wimpy background vocals that were later added by the studio heads. Mostly AG includes artists with one to three big songs and artists with big songs that have inexplicably been left off Greatest Hits collections. As a result you are getting everything that you want on the one collection. No filler only killer. And almost all of the songs are ones you probably do not own. 3) The songs are varied but they all come from the same era and the same ideas. They form one mood that allows for tempo changes so the work does not sound moderate. In comparison most collections that contain a lot of strong songs are all over the place. In addition many collections miss key songs. 4) The Wolfman Jack edits help to turn AG into a concept work that flows as one piece. This is not a collection of unrelated songs that do not work well together. The humor- which also includes using work by groups like the Tempos- helps to make the recording both cool and hilarious. 5) Like Revolver by the Beatles this is a good taste work that can be used to make more "serious" collections (slow Standards, Classical) cooler and "cooler" collections (Metal, Alternative) more "serious". Because while you shouldn't let other people tell you what to like it is better to have a more diverse range of sounds in your collection. Like Rock could be key Metal, Rawer Folk, Beatnik Jazz, Stravinsky Classical, Surfer instrumental recordings and so on... Definatley one of the recordings that should be heard as a whole piece.
