About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Every album Sleater-Kinney puts out is a revolution in sound -- and with all of the ornamental girl pop and testosterock on the airwaves, there’s never been a better time for a heroic upheaval. Enter ALL HANDS ON THE BAD ONE to the rescue: Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein weave their guitars and voices with plenty of pretty girl harmonies as well as their signature fire and brimstone. Janet Weiss’s drums pogo through "You’re No Rock ‘n Roll Fun," the pop-core first single and perhaps their most radio-friendly tune yet. Even better is the giddy, crushed-out Parisian romance of "Milkshake n' Honey" and the concentrated punk-pop riff ride of "The Professional." When Tucker passionately wails, "It’s time for a new rock ‘n roll age...and if you’re ready for more/I just might be what you’re looking for" on the incendiary send-up on music’s boys’ club, "Male Model," she’s making a serious threat to the rock throne. And if the boys are wise, they won’t stand in her way. Ganda Suthivarakom, Barnes & Noble

January 17, 2003: If you are a person who likes music then buy this. Don't pay attention to record labels, radio, and especially those tv stations that remain nameless to me, SK is real music. If you're a composer who hates the business of music then you'll truly feel these northwest riot girls, and if your a just a fan don't be, just listen, but you won't be able to request these songs anytime soon, popular music is way to lame to open the doors
