Israel "Cachao" Lopez, with his brother and rhythm-section partner Orestes, brought the rhythmic innovation known as mambo to Cuban dance music, touching off a revolution that spread throughout the world. The focus of intense devotion among Miami's Cuban community and Latin jazz fans, Cachao's career rehabilitation came in the early '90s, with the film Cachao...Como Su Ritmo No Hay Dos, directed by Andy Garcia, and a series of jams collected as Master Sessions, Vol. 1 and 2 . For this special release, Garcia once again teams with his mentor, including a bonus DVD with a 60 minute film that features nine videos. Cachao is backed by the CineSon All-Stars, which includes the noted Latin jazzers Justo Almario, Federico Brito, Luis Conte, Nelson González, and Danilo Lozano. Barnes & Noble
