Absolute Body and Soul is a collection of contemporary urban soul recordings that benefits from the licensing power of its benefactor, Time Life. The weak moments are few and far between, which is an accomplishment in a genre that often favors style over substance. From mega-hits (Usher's 1997 steam bath "My Way," Alicia Keys' "A Woman's Worth") to lesser-known gems (Angie Stone's "Brotha," the underrated Joe's "I Wanna Know"), Absolute Body and Soul is entertaining all the way through, and has sensuality to spare.
