About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Melissa Etheridge's Christmas album -- released in 2008, reissued in deluxe form the following year -- is faithful to her blues-rock beginnings while retaining a pleasant, relaxed, seasonal vibe. To Etheridge's credit, she devotes a considerable chunk of the record to originals, mostly slower, meditative pieces, but she kicks up the tempo on "It's Christmas Time," which stands alongside the bluesy shuffle of "Merry Christmas Baby" and "Blue Christmas" as the liveliest stuff here. February 16, 2009: Being a fan of almost all things Melissa Etheridge, I enjoyed this. Not the best she's ever done, and still it is an awesome collection of tunes. I enjoyed it.

January 03, 2009: I love this artist. I love how she mixed the words from classic Christmas carols with her own songs and melodies. I agree that the that Ring the Bells and O Night Devine are some of the best tracks, but Christmas in America speaks right to the heart during this time.
I will listen to this album all through the year. along with Awakenings. Oh how I would love to sit down with Melissa and just chat about the world and what inspires her songs. Buy this album, you won't regret it.
