About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

With A Mother's Gift Carrie Wilson, one-third of the hitmaking Wilson Phillips, opens her heart wide. With this valentine to her own child, and all the world’s other newborns, Wilson offers a suitably low-key set of pop lullabies that, while succeeding in calming children, will also hold the attention of adult listeners. Chestnuts mingle with contemporary tunes in a seamless blend. Wilson does justice to “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,” “Over the Rainbow,” and “Love Me Tender” while also extracting the authentic sentiment in “You Are So Beautiful” (movingly supported by her own father, Brian Wilson), “What a Wonderful World,” and others. Her solo voice crooning sweetly, Wilson proves that even without the soaring harmonies of her bandmates, she’s up to the job and then some. A delightful charmer, A Mother's Gift has all the makings of a perennial recording. William Pearl, Barnes & Noble

October 11, 2006: I say all these songs are very good. Carnie sang so great that any mother would love to hear. I enjoy listening to her with or without the group.

August 07, 2006: For those of us who have become somewhat (okay, extremely) sentimental since having children this cd is for us. The words are so touching. When the kids are tired I'll sometimes take them for a drive in the country and play this cd. I highly recommend this cd... but buy a box of kleenex as well.
