In A Knight's Tale, Heath Ledger is William Thatcher, a peasant masquerading as his recently deceased master in order to participate in a local jousting tournament. Writer/director Brian Helgeland takes a contemporary approach towards this period piece, linking this medieval test of manhood to the spirit of rock 'n' roll. As a result, the accompanying soundtrack plays like a perfect classic rock mix tape featuring a plethora of legendary rockers, including Eric Clapton ("Further On up the Road"), Sly & the Family Stone ("I Want to Take You Higher"), Heart ("Crazy on You"), and David Bowie ("Golden Years"). Helgeland keeps the film's bloody battle sequences moving with testosterone-laden anthems by Thin Lizzy ("The Boys Are Back in Town"), Bachman-Turner Overdrive ("Takin' Care of Business"), and Queen ("We Will Rock You"). The most pleasant surprises, however, are provided by Robbie Williams, who teams with Queen's surviving members for a sweeping version of "We Are the Champions," and Third Eye Blind on the Pearl Jam-meets-U2 guitar overdrive of "Eye Conqueror." A soundtrack this action-packed is bound to make both your day and knight. Dave Gil de Rubio, Barnes & Noble

July 01, 2002: This soundtrack is amoung many of the best soundtracks out to be purchased. It gave ''A Knight's Tale'' a wonderful fullfilling experience to be watched. Without the great Moderen Day music chosen for this movie,it wouldn't have been as great. I am always happy to choose this soundtrack to listen to, as my first choice with no thought in mind. I LOVE A KNIGHT'S TALE!!!!!!!
