Retiring CCM duo Watermark caps off their career with A Grateful People, a live album recorded at their farewell show. Recorded in front of a small audience at their hometown church in Brentwood, TN, this 65-minute set is an intimate overview of the career of husband-and-wife team of producer/guitarist Nathan Nockels and singer Christy Nockels, including guest appearances from friends like Chris Tomlin, Point of Grace, and Charlie Hall, with whom the Nockels had previously performed in the quartet Sons and Daughters. Having tended toward the more soft rock/adult contemporary side of contemporary Christian music for most of their career, there's little gospel-style intensity to this music, even on the audience participation tune "Take Me There," but the duo performs with verve and obvious enthusiasm throughout. ~ Stewart Mason, All Music Guide All Music Guide

December 10, 2006: Pros: Amazing Christ centered lyrics, Over 1 hour of music!, Special Guests Galore! Christy's Nockel's Voice, Nathan Nockels and the bands great music! Cons: Their last album as Watermark :-( It's a must have for all Watermark fans and a great start for those who are just learning about Watermark! Has atleast *1* song of their previous *4* albums. It has *4* new songs including #1! song "Light of the World" / Title Track: "A Grateful People" / "Arise and Be Comforted" with Shane and Shane and "Elliana's song" for their daughter. So many special guests (special friends) that help to highlight the album with Chris Tomlin, Point of Grace, Shane & Shane, Ed Cash, and Charlie Hall. "A Grateful People" touches the heart and the Holy Spirit. The lyrics are so touching and poigant, very different than christian music today. Thoughts and feelings of our Savior Jesus Christ surely come as you listen. Christy Nockel's voice might be the best in Christian music today! Its so angelic and passioniate with such great range and strength! Nathan and the band help with the arrangements to make it very special and the live feel helps add to it. It's in front of their home church and it's such a special recording as we always except out of Watermark! A blessed and hearfelt album! Thanks Jesus and thanks Watermark!
