Is there a kid alive who doesn't love to be silly? Watch the car miles speed by on your next lengthy auto trip when you pop this album into your stereo system. The car-seat brigade will be singing along in no time -- and don't be surprised if older siblings are drawn in as well. Raffi opens the set with "Shake Your Sillies Out," and what follows is a wide-ranging collection of daffy ditties from many eras and artists. Rock-'n'-roll pioneer Little Richard presents his wacky yet eminently soulful take on "On Top of Spaghetti," actress and children's impresario Shelley Duvall tosses off "Three Little Fishes" in her adorable manner, grandfatherly Burl Ives gives us "The Riddle Song," and Julie Andrews trills the unforgettable "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." Chet Atkins explores the wacky side of inbreeding in "I'm My Own Grandpa," a cappella veterans the Persuasions render a kooky "Ain't We Crazy," and '70s chanteuse Maria Muldaur does the jaunty "Heck, I'd Go!" From dear, departed legends such as Danny Kaye to contemporary wiseacres including Cheech Marin -- whose "My Name Is Cheech, the School Bus Driver" is the Mexican-ranchera title cut to one of the best kids' albums of the last two decades -- this collection is a whole lot of fun. July 02, 2003: I bought this for my daughter when she was 6 months old...she is now almost 3 and still loves it. Very cute funny songs that you can sing along to.
