Rather than focus on the early '80s -- the tendency of so many '80s-themed comps -- Virgin's 80's Dance Hits compilation spans the full decade, from Blondie's "Rapture" to Inner City's "Good Life." (And how's that for two deathless singles?) It's too bad there are only ten songs here, leaving well over half an hour of empty space on the disc, and the selections do seem fairly arbitrary, but for every negligible novelty track (Paula Abdul's "Opposites Attract," Was [Not Was]' "Walk the Dinosaur"), there is one that has always deserved more attention (Neneh Cherry's "Buffalo Stance," Jellybean's "Sidewalk Talk" [featuring Madonna on the chorus]).
