Editorial Reviews

PolyGram Special Markets 45's on CD, Vol. 3 (1966) is a collection of ten pop singles from the PolyGram vaults that were hits during that year. The disc boasts a nice balance of familiar hits and forgotten tunes, featuring such songs as Lou Christie's "Lightnin' Strikes," the Walker Brothers' "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore," Sam the Sham & the Pharaohs' "Lil' Red Riding Hood," Dusty Springfield's "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me," Bobby Hebb's "Sunny," the Mindbenders' "A Groovy Kind of Love," the Left Banke's "Walk Away Renee," and the New Vaudeville Band's "Winchester Cathedral." It's a nice, varied selection that's not always seen on a budget-priced disc, making it worthwhile for casual fans on a tight budget. Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
