About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Freddy Fender's 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection isn't particularly exhaustive, weighing in at only 12 tracks, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, since these songs provide a nice snapshot of the vocalist at his peak. His very biggest songs, including "Before the Next Teardrop Falls" and "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights," are here, along with several country Top Tens that crossed over into the pop charts -- namely "Secret Love," "You'll Lose a Good Thing," "Vay Con Dios," and "Livin' It Down." Though Fender did record other noteworthy material, much of it is noteworthy only after you've become a fan, and the conciseness of this collection makes it preferable for most listeners that just want the hits.
