With tracks by Cat Power, the Kooks, and Santigold, 17 Again has the dubious honor of being the hippest soundtrack to emerge from a Zac Efron film. Of course, the fact that the liner notes double as a hunky "locker poster" reminds us that this album still caters to the High School Musical audience, no matter how trendy the track list may be. A handful of older artists -- Young MC, Kenny Loggins, and Kool & the Gang -- round out the mix, making for a compilation that's only occasionally engaging but rarely unpleasant.
