About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Jon Bon Jovi has never been reluctant to embrace stardom -- in fact, as the title of this expansive archival offering indicates, he positively revels in it -- but he's also never been shy about giving the people what they want. That's the vibe that permeates this for-the-fans box set, which is packed to the gills with rarities and unreleased offerings that span the Jersey band's entire career. The uniformly high quality of the tunes spread across the four discs point to some serious quality control on Bon Jovi's part: Virtually all the songs compiled herein could've stormed the charts at the band's popular peak, notably the stinging "Why Aren't You Dead," which ups the "You Give Love a Bad Name" ante on the kiss-off front. On the other hand, "Garageland," which bops along on something of a J. Geils groove, attests to the degree they maintained the bar-band concern with keeping the folks on their feet. As the set progresses, it's easy to follow the maturing process, particularly in the leader's lyrical stance -- take "Rich Man Livin' in a Poor Man's House," on which Mr. Bongiovi gives voice to a working-class guy who feels wealthy due to the love of friends and family. While it's easy to perceive Bon Jovi as a one-man show -- the band name might have something to do with that -- this collection affords the rest of the guys a chance to strut their stuff as well. Drummer Tico Torres takes center stage for the breezy "Only in My Dreams," to which his bandmates append a Spanglish jingle about his prowess, while keyboardist David Bryan does his best Billy Joel impression on "Memphis Lives in Me." Not everything is A-list material -- as with most Bon Jovi recordings, the power ballads are piled on a bit thick -- but considering the fact that the bulk of the set consists of "leftovers," it's a mighty tasty meal, indeed. 100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can't Be Wrong also includes a DVD featuring interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. December 05, 2004: So many box sets out there are a compilation of greatest hits with a few new songs, remakes, etc thrown in. Not the cast with 100,000,000 Fans Can't Be Wrong!! Bon Jovi took their 20 years/100,000,000 albums sold mark to the highest level possible!!! A tried and true Bon Jovi fan will be in heaven...this is like getting 4 new albums AND a dvd all at once! Plus the Fan Testimonials and pictures included in the booklet are fantastic!! I've been a Bon Jovi fan since Runaway and this box set has me hoping for ANOTHER 20 years Rock on Bon Jovi!!!

I guess they can be wrong afterallby Anonymous

December 04, 2004: Although they both hail from New Jersey, Bon Jovi is no Boss. Springsteen and the E Street Band have delivered classic albums and singles. And their live act is second to none, so let's stop the comparisons. One need be a real hard core BJ fan in order to enjoy this new release. It's really not horrible, but when you start comparing to the Boss, I guess you get what you ask for.
